Ambulatory or Outpatient Surgery

Thanks to recent and continued advancements in medical technology, surgical techniques and pain management, many surgical procedures today are performed on an outpatient basis at LewisGale Hospital at Alleghany. In fact, more than 70 percent of surgeries performed here are outpatient with patients being in and out of the hospital in less than 24 hours. What does this mean for you? A quick return to the comfort of your own home the same day as your surgery. Minimally invasive surgical procedures, advanced imaging, and microsurgical techniques mean you’re not just back home the same day, but often times also able to move about
